Ok, I am starting to look at getting Abigail out of her crib, but I am torn between getting a toddler bed, and just skipping that and going to a twin bed, close to the ground. I'm curious what other moms think... what did you do??

for Carson we used a toddler bed and it worked well...we started him in it at about 14 months because we didn't want to do a total shocker when Audrey came along...and then with Audrey we went straight to a twin bed and we added a railing and with it being up against a wall it was a lot like her crib. both worked well...but I will tell you I'm keeping Jordan in her crib until she knows how to get out! good luck!!

I turned Kaiya crib into a toddler bed first. She slept on that for about a year. Then for her 3rd b-day we upgraded her to a twin. If you use a rail I think you will be just fine either way. Good luck.

Dylan started in a toddler bed for about a year... but when Dannon went to move from the crib, I just got them matching twin racecar beds. The toddler bed was great, because it had sides that helped him from falling out of bed on those rough nights, but if that's a concern you can get the rails that attached to a regular bed. I have had zero issues with the twin bed and I can keep them longer than a toddler bed.

We left Jane in her crib for a long time. When you're really ready for her to be in a bed and no longer restricted (which can be so nice) by the crib, go big or go home. Plus if you go ahead and get a real bed, you have another place for guests when they stay. Jane is in a full right now, pushed against the wall with a side rail. Good luck! She loves it and feels so big.
