Six Months already?

Here are some pictures I took today of my not so little girl. I can't believe how fast 6 months has flown by. We went to the doctor yesterday, and she was so good. We got her shots again, and she did even better this time. She only cried until I picked her up and she settled right back down and wasn't phased by them the rest of the day. I'm pretty sure she handles needles better than her daddy does, but that's not saying much :)

She weighed in at just over 17 lbs. Our little chunker is in the 70th percentile for weight, and 30th for height.... Story of my life, she's my little girl alright!

Every day I look at her and just can't believe what a little miracle she is. She is healthy as can be, and brings me more and more joy every day I get to spend with her.

Pamper yourself

Tonight I needed a break, that's all there was to it. I decided to pamper myself in a way I had never been pampered before.

Queen of the house, I grabbed my wand and began to polish my thrown. I gazed into the tropical, crystal-clear, blue water.

Tonight, I did it without a worry about if Abigail needed me.

I did it without a thought of time, without any feeling to rush.

I did it to the sound of Charles playing his guitar, and Abigail's squeels.

Tonight, I scrubbed toilets.

It was as good as therapy. It's all about perspective, right?

Teeth

Abigail cut her first tooth on January 1st, and got her second one in within a week of that. They are growing fast, and I think she is sharpening them at night to use as weapons. Ouch... that's all I can say. I can't believe she has teeth... She's getting so big. She is starting to scoot around and all of that fun stuff. The next few months will be fun, and I have a feeling she's going to keep me very busy.

We got these cute boots in the mail from Abigail's hip Aunt Courtney. They are a little big right now, but she is growing fast and will be stompin' around in them in no time. Thanks for thinking of us Qbert!

Sharpaby

Splish, Splash

Abigail has always enjoyed her bath time, but she has recently learned how to splash with her always-moving legs. We normally bathe her in an infant tub, in the kitchen, but that is starting to make quite the slippery mess on our kitchen floor. We might be sticking to the good old bath tub from here on out. I can't wait till she can REALLY play in the tub. I always loved that. I think it's better with siblings though... she's gonna have to hold out a little while for that though.

Toes

She's found her toes.
And she really likes them :)

...and the crowd goes WILD!

For Christmas, Abigail got a little basketball hoop from Aunt Lori. When you slam dunk, it has a crowd that cheers for you. Abigail loves playing with it. Brad and Becca gave her a little basketball too, so we are training her early :) She doesn't seem to mind either. We have had a lot of fun playing with all her new toys from Christmas.

Goodbye... for now

Here are the last bits of pictures from our trip. It was hard to say goodbye to everyone, we will miss y'all so much. It is good to know that we will be back this summer for Courtney's big day in June! We can't wait!

Fun with Logan

I know this is turning into more of a photo journal... but that is kind of the idea, so- sorry if you are getting tired of it, but in case you can't tell, I'm big on pictures.

Anyway, here are some cute ones of Abigail and Logan from our trip. Logan was so cute with Abigail, always wanting to hold her and play with her. He is going to make a great big brother!!

This was one of the highlights of the Texas trip. Logan got to talk with Santa over the baby monitor.

I love the part where he almost drops Abigail when he realizes he didn't tell Santa to bring her anything for Christmas.

Growing fast

Abigail has started to sit up on her own. It started out as a fun game to see how long she could sit up before she would slowly fall over, but now she is doing a pretty good job holding herself up. She has even started lifting herself back up when she starts to slouch over. She is getting so strong. She is pushing up with her arms when she is on her tummy and rolling over more and more. I wonder how long until she starts scooting around the house?? She has also started reaching more for things, and people (ME!!). She reaches for Charles too, but I was so excited when she started doing this. It is nice to have a little reciprocation :)

Sweet Nana

We got to spend a little bit of time with my grandparents while we were in Texas. Abigail hadn't met Nana yet, but she got acquainted quickly. I can't believe I didn't get any pictures of her and Papa, but I am glad I have a few of Nana holding her and Abigail snuggling up to her. Nana had her giggling and smiling quite a bit. It will be fun to see them again this summer, Abigail will have changed so much by then!

Happy Anniversary

We celebrated our 2 year anniversary Dec. 28th! It was pretty low key, but we were happy to pop a bottle of our favorite Martinelli's and toast to a fun filled 2 years.

Happy Birthday Alissa

Well, I am about a little late here... but we celebrated my sister in law's birthday on Dec 27th while we were in Texas. We went out to lunch with the girls, Kyle made some great cupcakes, and we finished off the day at El Matador (a personal favorite). Alissa is so fun to have around! I'm glad we got to be together to celebrate her birthday and SOO glad that we all got to spend so much time together over the holidays this year. We love you Alissa!

Fish Fry

Brad caught the fish, Dad fried them, and we all ate them. We all stood around and had a good time while Dad cooked up the fish and everything to go with them. Lots of fish, hush puppies, fries, and onion rings. Thanks boys!!
