Let it Snow :)

you know... snow is actually kind of fun when you can just step out for a second and enjoy it, then come back inside and get warm. I had come to despise that white powder when I had to walk to school in it every day. But here, it doesn't happen often, and when it does, everything is canceled. In fact, last night, it got me off the hook for at the stake Christmas fireside with Sam, which I just so happened to be terrified about singing :) Thank you snow, see you again soon!

Rice, Rice, Baby...

We had our first successful rice cereal meal yesterday. We'd tried once about 2 weeks ago, but she wasn't really feeling it. I decided it was time to try again yesterday because Abigail was really interested in our food. When she saw our breakfast, she started making chewing motions with her mouth. She tried chewing the rice cereal too. It was really cute. She's growing too fast, but I can't complain, she's just getting cuter by the day.

Sittin' Pretty

We got Abigail a bumbo seat for Christmas... only, I can't seem to wait until Christmas to let her try out any of the new things I have bought for her. So here she is, checking out her new little seat. I can't believe how big she's getting!

Hide and Seek

I had Charles take Abigail while I did a few things I needed to before I started putting her to bed. When it came bed time... I found Charles hiding in the closet, and Abigail in our laundry hamper. I felt like a party pooper taking her out and getting her all ready for bed. No wonder she has more fun with Charles :)

Happy Birthday Brudder

Happy Birthday Brad! You probably never read this (shame on you), but I had to give a shout out!

Thanks for all you do for our family, Brad. You have done far more than anyone has expected of you, especially over the last 2 years. You have really stepped up and taken a ton of responsibility upon yourself, that you really didn't have to do. You have really given of yourself and your time, when you were already spread pretty thin. Thanks for coming out for Abigail's blessing- you'll never know what it meant to us for you to be here.

I absolutely cannot imagine our family without Brad. He IS the party when we get together. He can make fun out of just about any situation. He is great with all the kids, and so cute with Logan.

Thanks for your example to us all Brad! We love you more than you know!!

Small Packages

It's true. Good things DO come in small packages.

Santa??

Abigail got to meet Santa for the first time this weekend too! I love these pictures because of how she is looking at him in all of them. She is only looking at the camera in one picture, and looks like she is saying, Mom- I'm not so sure this guy is legit.

We had to keep her from tugging too hard on his beard too. The holidays are a lot more fun with a little one, we have been missing out!

Family First

Yesterday was my big debut.

Every year the Himmer family, along with a few friends, puts on a Christmas concert for a group of nursing homes in Gig Harbor. The homes are called Family First. It is a group of 5 homes, with about 6 residents I believe. They are normal houses that have been converted to fit all the needs of the residents, and provide 24 hour care for them in a more intimate, personal setting than your typical nursing home. The owner, Chris Thompson, and his wife, Julie (I think), are really great people. I hadn't ever met them before, but they have been working on this business for 10 years, and really care about what they are doing for these families. It was really cool to see them all come together for a little holiday party. Chris goes to every doctors appt with each resident, and stays very involved in their lives and what he can do to help. What a great way to find a need that you can fill to make life better for people in your community. Anyway, for a few years now, the Himmers have been playing music at this annual Christmas party, and yesterday was my first time to participate. It was a lot of fun to see those people's faces light up and shake their jingle bells along with the music.

The biggest hit of the night was Sam (almost 7), singing "Christmas Shoes" The video there is a little cheesy, but it is such a sweet song. He even got an encore, and performed again at the end of the night. Way to go Sammy!

Sam's only competition may have been Abigail, she stole the show. She was making friends everywhere she went. We were gone from 8:30 am, when we left for church, until about 6:30 pm when we got home from it all. Abigail did not fuss ONE SINGLE TIME the whole day. She was perfect. What a blessing this sweet little girl is :)
